Eleven Limited — Giving Back To The Community
Here at Eleven Limited we believe passionately that people and organizations
should give of their time and expertise in an effort to build
strong communities.
How are we giving back?
In
2007, after seeing a particularly moving Tuesday's Child clip on the
mid-day news, we approached Adoption Rhode Island regarding maintenance
of their website. After talks with Executive
Director Darlene Allen,
we will now be the interim webmaster for the http://www.adoptionri.org/ website.
In
2007, Eleven Limited was proud to sponsor two scholarships to Ocean
State Action's New
Voices Campaign Institute. We will be providing funding
that allows two minority female scholars to attend this exciting training
program this fall. The program is designed for people who are interested
in being able to lead electoral campaigns, or may even run for office
some day. Read
more about the program.
Our
Creative Director Tim McMahon was recently accepted as an Invited
Expert to work with the World Wide Web Consortium's newly formed HTML Working
Group. The group was chartered to create the next HTML standard
with the active participation of browser vendors, software developers,
and content designers. "It's
time to revisit the standard and see what we can do to meet the current
community needs, and to do so effectively with commitments from browser
manufacturers in a visible and open way," said Tim Berners-Lee,
W3C Director and inventor of the World Wide Web.
Hearthside
House: We are happy to provide our web development
skills to Hearthside
House at a greatly reduced rate. In the town of Lincoln, RI.
Here in Lincoln, we have so many historical gems that it's hard to turn
a corner without bumping into one of them. Hearthside, also known as "The
House That Love Built",
is run by the Friends of Hearthside — a nonprofit organization with
501(c)(3) status. The mission of Friends of Hearthside, Inc. is to promote
the historical significance of this landmark as well as the cultural
heritage of Lincoln and the Great Road Historic District. We are proud
to have built and to continually maintain Hearthside's website.
